Summary of how you help practices each and every day: With over 20 years in healthcare, my diverse experience has given me expertise in business infrastructure, practice management, revenue cycle management, and medical eye care education. I truly have a passion for helping practices succeed. 

What do you love most about your job: What I love most is the opportunity to help both our partners and staff solve complex problems. I enjoy building strong relationships with clients, ensuring they feel supported and empowered to succeed. Collaborating with our team makes everything even more rewarding. Together, we tackle challenges, share insights, and continuously improve our processes.

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve seen practices face in the last year and how do you help solve them: The changes in our economy over the past 3 years has placed pressure on all businesses, increased costs, and higher expectations for value. Staying ahead of the curve in these areas and technology is always a challenge. Many practices are trying to do more with less while still delivering excellent care. At OMS, we help practices stay ahead by providing both strategic and operational support. We bring in expert eyes to identify inefficiencies, streamline billing processes, and improve cash flow all while taking pressure off internal staff.

What’s a memorable team moment or success you’ve been a part of: We took on a practice 10 years ago and discovered a large volume of unfiled claims stacked up on a table in the checkout area. This was our first day in the business. We made it a priority to review, file, and collect these claims. We collected over $120,000 in the first 60 days! It was a great start to the relationship.

What’s something unique about the way you approach your work: I try to live by the principle of “I am third”, putting faith first, others second, and myself third. It’s a core value that guides how I show up for our clients and my team, even if I don’t always get it perfectly right. It helps keep my work focused on service and purpose.

Is there any piece of advice you consistently give practices: Claim filing is the lifeblood of any practice. Consistently evaluate your team’s success through cash flow, a clean accounts receivable, and creating transparency to hold them accountable for success. It’s critical to have a self audit process in place to know if you are actually seeing the results you believe you have in your billing and collections process.

In your opinion, what sets OMS apart from others in the industry: Our personal attention given to our customers. We tailor solutions to fit their unique needs and challenges. 

What’s one thing on your bucket list you’re excited to check off: Going to India! Seeing the Taj Mahal, building new business relationships with a wonderful team, and learning a bit of the language.
